The statement of faith
By Luke Peterson
To me, faith means that I can wake up and go to sleep everyday knowing that I am forgiven, & loved. God is always with me and he doesn't judge me for the way I am.
Ascension is great. You know everyone, my 2 best friends go here, and there's lots of nice old Lady's. I've learned so much about faith in the time I've been here at Ascension, mainly from my mom and dad, my grandparents, and Steve Cox. My parents have both helped me in many ways, my dad for teaching me about faith, and my mom for talking to me about It, my grand parents have just shown me Love, and Steve has been teaching me the way since the old days. God has given me many gifts but the one gift that is the most important to me is art, it's the one thing that really helps to calm me down. I think god has given me this gift to look at things with a differently and see things that most people couldn't see. I think god gave me this gift to help other people see things through different eyes.
I can remember that god helped me a situation when I was young. In first grade I broke both arms and the people at this church prayed for me and were very helpful to my recovery. That was god working through people to help me. Another time when I was in 5th grade, I was having a lot of problems at school. I was diagnosed with ADD and some vision problems, and God put a lot of people around me to help me through that.
I am very thankful for this church and having god in my life and for my family and friends, who have all helped me along the way. Thank you all for coming here and for being a part of my confirmation.
