This Christmas season Ascension
will sponsor a Money Tree for Lutheran Social Services of the
South. The project we are supporting through LSSS is the renovation
of a bathroom for a foster family with two wheelchair bound teenage
boys afflicted with Duchenne's Syndrome, a severe form of Muscular
Dystrophy.
The cost of the handicapped
bathroom renovation is $9,700 of which $7,500 has been donated to
date. Our Money Tree donations will be added to that total to help
defray the cost of this much needed facility.
The foster family is committed to
accept handicapped children even after these two boys have passed
away.
Duchenne's Syndrome, a serious form
of muscular dystrophy, through the form of a "Christmas Giving
Tree". A whopping total of $756.00 was given.
The boys are in the foster-care
program administered by Lutheran Social Services of the South.
